Convention Planning Update
It’s the beginning of August. We should know pretty much everything about the programming for November at this point. Unfortunately, the final schedule is not set. We accepted seven papers for Scholar-to-Scholar sessions, but those papers appear to have been lost in the system somewhere. Good news! These papers are currently being scheduled. They should appear on the Scholar-to-Scholar schedule soon.
We requested, moreover, an additional panel based on an already high rejection rate, the size of our division, and the quality of our submissions. We have not yet heard what the status of this panel is, with the result that the papers we programmed for that panel have yet to be accepted or rejected. Ulla has written to others about the panel 21 situation. The responses are either silence, or an indication that this is being looked into. We will continue to pursue this with diligence and will get information out to you as soon as we have it.
Thank you all for submitting to the division. We hope you will both do so again and will join us in Chicago for an exciting schedule of Human Communication and Technology panels. See you in November!
